On December 4, 2025, Jordyn Peters, a former BOP Education Specialist previously assigned to the Federal Correctional Institution Gilmer (FCI Gilmer) in West Virginia, was sentenced in the Northern District of West Virginia to three years of probation and a $100 special assessment fee for the introduction of contraband to a federal prisoner. According to the plea agreement, between March 2024 and July 2024, Peters knowingly introduced methamphetamines and other contraband into the prison at the request of an inmate was paid $4000 for introducing the contraband. The investigation was conducted by the OIG’s Washington Office.
