Former BOP Correctional Officer Sentenced for Wire Fraud

On April 28, 2026, a former BOP Correctional Officer previously assigned to the Federal Correctional Institution Coleman (FCI Coleman), in Florida, was sentenced to 2 years of probation and ordered to pay $29,610 in restitution for one count of wire fraud. Keevin Jones was sentenced in the Middle District of Florida. According to the factual statement in support of the guilty plea, from on or about  June 10, 2020, through on or about July 22, 2020, Jones fraudulently applied for approximately $60,000 and received $29,610 in Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) funds. The investigation was conducted by the OIG’s Fraud Detection Office with assistance from the OIG’s Southeast Region.
