On August 30, 2021, a former BOP Cook Supervisor previously assigned to the United States Penitentiary Big Sandy in Inez, Kentucky, was sentenced to 210 months of imprisonment and 5 years of supervised release, for one count each of conspiracy to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, accepting a bribe by a public official, and aiding and abetting the use of a communication facility to facilitate the commission of a felony offense. Hank Williams was sentenced in the Eastern District of Kentucky. Williams also was ordered to forfeit $90,049.20 that was previously seized during the investigation, According to the factual statement in support of the guilty plea, from in or about spring 2016 through on or about September 27, 2019, Williams conspired with others to distribute methamphetamine, heroin, marijuana, and other controlled substances; agreed to provide and provided prison inmates contraband items in exchange for financial payments; and used communication facilities to facilitate the commission of a felony. The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Lexington Domicile Office, the United States Postal Inspections Service, the FBI, and the Georgetown, Kentucky Police Department.
