Former BOP Correctional Officer Pleaded Guilty to Bribery

On March 4, 2021, a former BOP Correctional Officer previously assigned to the Federal Correctional Institution in Yazoo City, Mississippi, pleaded guilty to one count of bribery.  Ashley Lovett pleaded guilty in the Southern District of Mississippi.  According to the plea agreement, Lovett pleaded guilty to count one of the Indictment, which stated that from on or about July 6, 2018, through in or about December 2018, Lovett did corruptly demand, seek, receive, accept and agree to accept something of value, that is, money, from one or more individuals, in return for being induced to provide prohibited objects to an inmate of a prison.  The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Atlanta Area Office.
