FBI Intelligence Analyst Sentenced for Willful Retention of National Defense Information

On June 21, 2023, a former FBI Intelligence Analyst previously assigned to the FBI’s Kansas City Field Office was sentenced to 46 months of imprisonment and three years of supervised release for two counts of the willful retention of national defense information.  Kendra Kingsbury was sentenced in the Western District of Missouri.  According to court records, Kinsbury pleaded guilty to counts 1 and 2 of the Indictment, which provided that from in or about June 2004 through on or about December 15, 2017, while having unauthorized possession of, access to, and control over documents relating to national defense, Kingsbury willfully retained the documents at her personal residence and failed to deliver them to the officer or employee of the United States entitled to receive them.  The investigation was conducted by the OIG’s Chicago Field Office and the FBI.
