DOJ Contractor Settles to Resolve False Claim Act Allegations

Date

On September 22, 2020, The West River Group Government Services, Inc. (West River Group) entered into an agreement with the Department to pay $1,115,805 to resolve allegations that West River Group submitted false claims to the DOJ for professional services.  According to the settlement agreement, the government alleged the West River Group overbilled labor hours and billed for employees at rates for which those employees did not qualify on task orders related to a professional services contract with the Justice Management Division.  The West River Group did not admit liability in the settlement agreement.  The investigation was conducted by the OIG’s Fraud Detection Office.
