DEA Contractor Arrested and Charged with Theft of Government Funds


On October 20, 2020, a DEA Contract Asset Forfeiture Administrative Assistant was arrested following an Indictment charging her with one count of theft of government money and one count of receiving stolen government money.  Susan Mittleider was indicted in the District of Idaho.  According to the Indictment, from in or about August 2016 through in or about December 2019, Mittleider did knowingly embezzle, steal, purloin, and convert to her own use and the use of another, money belonging to the United States and a department and agency thereof in a total amount greater than $1,000, to wit: Social Security benefits paid to an ineligible individual.  The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Denver Field Office and the Social Security Administration OIG’s Boise Resident Office.
