On April 8, 2026, a BOP inmate previously incarcerated at the Federal Correctional Institution El Reno (FCI El Reno) in Oklahoma was arrested and pleaded guilty to an Information charging him with one count of paying a bribe to a public official. Michael Harris pleaded guilty in the Western District of Oklahoma. According to the information, from in or about September 2023 to in or about March 2024, Harris corruptly paid money in the form of CashApp payments to a BOP Food Services Cook Supervisor in return for introducing contraband, including methamphetamine, tetrahydrocannabinol, oxycodone, hydrocodone, and a cellular telephone, into FCI El Reno for inmates. The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Dallas Office.
