On July 25, 2023, a BOP Correctional Officer assigned to the Metropolitan Correctional Center New York (MCC New York) in New York was sentenced to 43 months of imprisonment and 2 years of supervised release, as well as ordered to forfeit $77,894, for one count of conspiracy to commit honest services wire fraud. Perry Joyner was sentenced in the Southern District of New York. According to court records, Joyner pleaded guilty to Count 2 of the Indictment which provided that, from in or about October 2019 through in or about April 2020, Joyner participated in a conspiracy to commit honest services wire fraud by accepting bribe payments from prisoners at the MCC New York in exchange for prison contraband. The investigation was conducted by the OIG’s New York Field Office and the FBI.
