BOP Correctional Officer Indicted for Firearm Violations

On February 5, 2026, a BOP Correctional Officer assigned to the Metropolitan Detention Center Brooklyn (MDC Brooklyn), in New York, was indicted by the grand jury of the County of New York on one count of attempted criminal possession of a weapon and one count of attempted criminal possession of a firearm. According to the Indictment, on or about April 16, 2025, Deonn Richardson attempted to possess a loaded firearm outside of the defendant’s home or place of work. The investigation is being conducted by OIG’s New York City Office.
