BOP Correctional Officer Arrested for Introduction of Contraband

On February 3, 2022, a BOP Correctional Officer assigned to the Federal Correctional Institution Yazoo City Medium (FCI Yazoo City Medium) in Mississippi, was arrested pursuant to a State of Mississippi arrest warrant for one count of introduction of contraband.  Tavaris Patton was arrested in Mississippi.  According to the affidavit in support of the arrest warrant, on or about February 25, 2021, Patton smuggled 100 contraband Newport tobacco cigarettes into the FCI Yazoo City Medium. The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Jackson Domicile Office.
