BOP Correctional Officer Arraigned and Charged with Embezzlement

On December 8, 2022, a BOP Correctional Officer assigned to the Metropolitan Detention Center Los Angeles in California was arraigned following an Information charging her with one count of embezzlement.  Juana Cruz was charged in the Central District of California.  According to the Information, on or about November 16, 2021, Cruz unlawfully converted to her own use approximately $960 that came under her possession and control in the execution of her employment as a Correctional Officer.  The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Los Angeles Field Office.
