Two Former BOP Correctional Officers, Two Former BOP Inmates, and Two Non-DOJ Conspirators Indicted and Arrested for Conspiracy to Defraud the United States, Introduction of Contraband, and Bribery

Between November 13th and 16th, 2020, two former BOP Correctional Officers previously assigned to the Federal Correctional Institution Petersburg (FCI Petersburg) in Virginia, two former BOP Inmates of FCI Petersburg, and two non-DOJ co-conspirators were arrested following an Indictment charging them with conspiracy to defraud the United States, introduction of contraband, and bribery.  Former BOP Correctional Officers Stephen Taylor and Shanice Bullock, former BOP Inmates Dontay Cox and Travian Taylor, and non-DOJ individuals Kim Williams and Rameesha Smith were indicted in the Eastern District of Virginia on November 4, 2020.  According to the Indictment, from in or about 2015 through on or about July 18, 2019, Correctional Officers Taylor and Bullock received tens of thousands of dollars from an inmate and his associates to, among other things, facilitate the introduction of cellular telephones and controlled substances into FCI Petersburg.  The investigation is being conducted jointly by the OIG’s Washington Field Office and the FBI.
