Former DOJ Contractor Indicted and Arrested for Major Disaster Fraud, Wire Fraud, Money Laundering, and Theft of Government Money

On October 13, 2022, a former contractor for DOJ and Department of Homeland Security was arrested following an Indictment charging her with 11 counts of major disaster fraud, 14 counts of wire fraud, 3 counts of money laundering, and 1 count of theft of government money.  Tiffany Brown was indicted in the Northern District of Georgia.  According to the Indictment, between on or about September 28, 2017, and in or about December 2017, Brown falsely represented herself and her companies to fraudulently obtain over $250,000 in funds from federal contracts. The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Fraud Detection Office, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Department of Homeland Security OIG.
