Former Child Advocacy Center Executive Director Sentenced for Theft of Federal Program Funds

In April 26, 2022, the former Executive Director of the Kids Space Child Advocacy Center in Muskogee, Oklahoma, was sentenced to 5 years of probation and ordered to pay $42,075 in restitution for one count of theft from an organization receiving federal program funds.  Hilary McQueen was sentenced in the Eastern District of Oklahoma.  According to the factual statement in support of the guilty plea, from in or about June 2015 through on or about September 1, 2018, Kids Space received benefits from the United States in excess of $10,000 in any one-year period in the form of DOJ Victims of Crime Act grant funds, and during that time McQueen embezzled, stole and misapplied property worth at least $5,000 which was under the care, custody and control of Kids Space. The investigation was conducted by the OIG’s Dallas Field Office and the FBI.
