On April 15, 2021, a former BOP Correctional Officer assigned to the Federal Correctional Institution in Phoenix, Arizona was sentenced to 8 months of incarceration followed by 10 years of supervised release and required to register as a sexual offender for one count of abusive sexual contact of a ward. Irvin Anglin was sentenced in the District of Arizona. According to the factual statement in support of the guilty plea, from on or about in January 1, 2019, through on or about November 30, 2019, Anglin knowingly engaged in or caused sexual contact with a BOP inmate who was then in official detention and under the custodial, supervisory, or disciplinary authority of Anglin. The investigation was conducted by the OIG’s Denver Field Office and FBI.
