Former Bureau of Prisons Correctional Officer Sentenced to 24 Months in Federal Prison for Sexually Abusing Inmates

On August 27, 2021, a former BOP Food Service Foreman previously assigned to the Federal Correctional Institution Marianna in Florida, was sentenced to 24 months of imprisonment and 5 years of supervised release for two counts of sexual abuse of an inmate.  Phillip Golightly was charged in the Northern District of Florida.  According to the factual statement in support of the guilty plea, on or about November 10, 2019, and on or about November 17, 2019, Golightly forced an inmate, who was under Golightly’s custodial, supervisory, and disciplinary authority, to engage in sexual acts with him.  The investigation was conducted by the OIG’s Miami Field Office.
