On March 14, 2022, a former clerk with the Boston Police Department was sentenced to 90 days of imprisonment followed by 3 years of supervised release, with the first 3 months spent in home confinement, and ordered to pay $29,000 in restitution to the Boston Police Department for one count of embezzlement from a program receiving federal funds and six counts of wire fraud. Marilyn Golisano was sentenced in the District of Massachusetts. According to the plea agreement, Golisano pleaded guilty to counts one through seven of the Indictment, which stated that from in or about 2017 through in or about early 2019, Golisano submitted false and fraudulent overtime slips for overtime hours that she did not work. The investigation was conducted by the OIG’s New Jersey Area Office.
