On November 14, 2025, Ariell Zulewski, a former BOP Recreational Specialist assigned to the Federal Medical Center Lexington (FMC Lexington) in Kentucky, pleaded guilty in the Eastern District of Kentucky, to one count of abusive sexual contact and one count of receipt of illegal gratuity. According to the factual statement in support of the guilty plea, beginning in or about December 2023 through in or about February 2024, Zulewski knowingly engaged in sexual contact with an inmate and accepted money for an official act. The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Lexington Locale and forensic assistance was provided by the OIG’s Cyber Investigations Office.
