Former BOP Recreation Specialist Indicted and Arrested for Sexual Abuse of an Inmate

On April 6, 2023, a former BOP Recreation Specialist assigned to the Federal Correctional Institute Tallahassee (FCI Tallahassee) in Florida was arrested following an Indictment charging him with one count of sexual abuse of an inmate under his supervision.  Lenton Hatten was indicted in the Northern District of Florida.  According to the Indictment, from on or about October 1, 2021, through on or about August 9, 2022, Hatten engaged in a sexual act with an inmate who was under his custodial, supervisory, and disciplinary authority at FCI Tallahassee.  The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Miami Field and the FBI.
