Former BOP General Automotive Foreman Pleaded Guilty to Theft of Public Money

On May 15, 2020, a former BOP General Automotive Foreman assigned to the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Big Spring in Texas pleaded guilty to one count of theft of public money.  Ronnie Landis pleaded guilty in the Northern District of Texas.  According to the factual statement in support of the guilty plea, from on or about February 15, 2019, through on or about November 18, 2019, Landis did knowingly and willfully embezzle, steal, purloin, and without authority convert to his own use and the use of another, property and a thing of value of the United States, specifically six BF Goodrich Rugged All-Terrain tires and a John Deere Gator utility vehicle.  The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s El Paso Area Office.
