Former BOP Correctional Treatment Specialist Charged and Pleaded Guilty to Bribery of a Public Official

On June 26, 2023, a former BOP Correctional Treatment Specialist previously assigned to the Federal Correctional Complex, Terre Haute (FCC-TH), Indiana was charged by Information and pleaded guilty to one count of bribery of a public official.  Shauna Boatright was charged and pleaded guilty in the Southern District of Indiana.  According to the factual statement in support of the guilty plea, from in or about September 2021 through in or about October 2021, Boatright provided contraband tobacco to inmates at the FCC-TH in exchange for electronically transferred money, totaling approximately $9,800.  The investigation is being conducted by OIG’s Chicago Field Office, the OIG’s Cyber Investigations Office, and the FBI.
