Former BOP Correctional Officer Pleaded Guilty to Providing Contraband in Prison

On August 18, 2023, a former BOP Correctional Officer previously assigned to the Federal Correctional Institution Oakdale in Louisiana pleaded guilty to one count of providing contraband in prison.  Arteria Scott pleaded guilty in the Western District of Louisiana.  According to the factual statement in support of the guilty plea, in or about September 2021, Scott provided prohibited cigarettes to an inmate in exchange for $2,400.  The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Houston Area Office, with forensic assistance provided by the OIG’s Cyber Investigations Office.
