On February 22, 2023, a former BOP Correctional Officer previously assigned to Federal Correctional Complex Forrest City (FCC Forrest City) in Arkansas, pleaded guilty to one count of bribery of a public official. Bryant Phillips pleaded guilty in the Eastern District of Arkansas. According to factual statement in support of the guilty plea, from in or about January 2017 through in or about February 2019, Phillips accepted more than $15,000 in monetary bribes from inmates’ friends and families to introduce and allow to be introduced various items of contraband, including tobacco, alcohol, and the controlled substance K2, into FCC Forrest City. The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Dallas Field Office, with assistance provided by OIGs Cyber Investigation Office.
