Former BOP Correctional Officer Indicted for Disorderly Conduct by Filing a False Police Report

On March 20, 2024, a former BOP Correctional Officer previously assigned to the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Chicago, Illinois, was indicted for one count of felony disorderly conduct by filing a false police report.  Daniel Bolger was charged in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois.  Bolger was previously arrested for this offense by the Rolling Meadows Police Department on January 25, 2024.  According to the Indictment, on or about September 7, 2023, Bolger transmitted a report to a peace officer that an offense of theft had been committed, knowing at the time of the transmission that there were no reasonable grounds for believing that the offense had been committed.  The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Chicago Office and the Rolling Meadows, Illinois Police Department.
