Executives at Nonprofit Organization Receiving DOJ Funding Pleaded Guilty to Conspiracy

On September 28, 2022, Tommy and Bontiea Goss—the former Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer, respectively, at Preferred Family Healthcare, a nonprofit organization receiving DOJ funds—both pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy.  In addition, Tommy Goss pleaded guilty to aiding and assisting in the preparation and presentation of false returns.  Tommy and Bontiea Goss pleaded guilty in the Western District of Missouri.  According to the factual statements in support of the guilty pleas, Tommy and Bontiea Goss paid bribes to members of the Arkansas legislature in exchange for those members of the Arkansas legislature using their official positions to perform official action that would benefit Preferred Family Healthcare.  In addition, Tommy Goss falsified the adjusted gross income on his 2013 tax return to the Internal Revenue Service. The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Chicago Field Office, FBI, IRS, and DOL-OIG.
