On December 3, 2025, Navarus Bryant, a BOP inmate, was indicted by a Federal Grand Jury in the Southern District of Georgia and pleaded guilty to twenty-four counts of paying a bribe to a public official and twenty-four counts of money laundering. According to the Indictment, Bryant made numerous bribery payments to BOP Correctional Officer Ashley Brown, who was also charged in the indictment, as a part of a larger conspiracy to introduce contraband into the Federal Correctional Institution in Jessup, Georgia. The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Charleston Locale.
