On January 10, 2023, a BOP inmate formerly assigned to the Metropolitan Correctional Center New York (MCC New York) in New York pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to provide and possess contraband in prison and one count of conspiracy to commit honest services wire fraud. Markeen Jordan pleaded guilty in the Southern District of New York. According to court records, Jordan pleaded guilty to Counts 1 and 2 of the Indictment, which provided that from in or about October 2019 through in or about January 2021, Jordan participated in a conspiracy to provide and possess contraband in prison, including marijuana, K2, oxycodone, alprazolam, buprenorphine, Suboxone, cellphones, alcohol, cigarettes, and other contraband. Additionally, from in or about October 2019 through in or about April 2020, Jordan participated in a conspiracy to commit honest services wire fraud by agreeing to facilitate bribe payments to correctional officers at the MCC New York in exchange for contraband. The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s New York Field Office and the FBI.
