BOP Food Services Foreman Arrested and Charged with Sexual Abuse of a Ward

On March 4, 2025, a BOP Food Services Foreman assigned to the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) in Thomson, Illinois was arrested following an Indictment charging him with four counts of sexual abuse of a ward. Danny Spyker was charged in the Northern District of Illinois. According to the Indictment, in or about December 2023 and March 2024, Spyker engaged in sexual acts with inmates incarcerated at FCI Thomson. The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Chicago Office.
