| Inspection, Primary | Primary inspection includes all work performed by officers in connection with the inspection of aliens and examination of U.S. citizens entering the United States in which the decision of admissibility is made upon the initial contact with the applicant with no further action or additional documentation needed after such contact. |
| Inspection, Secondary | Secondary inspection includes all work performed by officers in connection with the inspection of aliens and examination of U.S. citizens entering the United States in which a decision on admissibility is made after primary inspection procedures have been completed. |
| Pedestrian | Pedestrians are applicants for entry to the United States who walk through a land border port of entry in order to present themselves for inspection. |
| TECS | Treasury Enforcement Communications Systems: A lookout database maintained by the U.S. Customs. It is the primary lookout system used at air and land POEs. |
| User Fee, Land Border | Charges for the issuance of certain documents to aliens at land border ports of entry. |
| Vehicle | Vehicle traffic and small trucks crossing at land border ports of entry. Commercial haulers and buses are not included in vehicle traffic. |
