Good O' Boy Roundup Report - March, 1996

b) OIG findings regarding racist misconduct
at the 1984 Roundup

A second Treasury agent, who attended in 1985 but not 1984, made an almost identical allegation. He reported seeing a similar statue placed outside someone's camper and said Rightmyer saw the statue, told the person to put it back in the camper, and the person did. He recalled, however, that the responsible person was a local deputy sheriff. This particular conduct would be very unusual, so the chances that it occurred twice are slim. As the agent reporting the 1985 incident did not attend the 1984 Roundup and the agent reporting this event in 1984 also attended in 1985, it most likely occurred in 1985.
