Oversight of the Federal Bureau of Prisons’ Fiscal Year 2026 Maintenance and Repair Funds in Public Law 119-21

The OIG is examining the BOP’s recently completed major infrastructure projects at the Federal Correctional Institution Estill, including review of new initiatives implemented by the BOP, to inform future audits assessing risks associated with the use of Pub. L. No. 119-21 funds.

This is part of a series of oversight engagements the OIG will be performing of BOP’s planning and execution of the $5 billion provided by Public Law 119-21 for BOP salaries, personnel benefits, and facilities.
