Telehealth Services in Selected Federal Healthcare Programs

Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP)
United States Marshals Service (USMS)
Special Projects

The OIG is participating in a cross-agency evaluation of telehealth services during the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic in selected federal healthcare programs, including the Bureau of Prisons (BOP) and the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS).  The OIG is conducting this effort through its membership in the Pandemic Response Accountability Committee (PRAC). OIG members of the PRAC with involvement in healthcare programming will be working to produce a report describing the types of telehealth services in selected healthcare programs and related program integrity risks.  The DOJ OIG portion of this project is focused on telehealth services provided to inmates and detainees in the custody of the BOP and the USMS.
