On January 28, 2022, a former USMS Contract Correctional Officer previously assigned to the Leavenworth Detention Center (Leavenworth) in Kansas, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to introduce contraband into a prison. Willie Golden pleaded guilty in the District of Kansas. According to the factual statement in support of the guilty plea, from in or about April 2020 through in or about October 2020, Golden used his position at Leavenworth to conspire with others to receive over $12,400 in exchange for smuggling contraband into the facility. The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Chicago Field Office and the FBI.

Jeane Arnette was arraigned in the District of Kansas. According to the Information, from in or about July 2021 through in or about September 2021, Arnette used her position at Leavenworth to conspire with others to smuggle contraband, including cellular phones, tobacco, food, and mail, into the facility in exchange for money. The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Chicago Field Office and the FBI.
