On March 6, 2026, a former intelligence analyst of the Nevada High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area was sentenced to one day in the custody of the Federal Bureau of Prisons, five months home detention, three years supervised release, and was ordered to pay $328,464 in restitution after conviction for one count of theft of property of the United States. Sabrina Rhodes was sentenced in the Central District of California. According to the factual statement in support of the guilty plea, on or about November 22, 2023, Rhodes reconstituted a seized DEA cryptocurrency wallet using seed phrases she obtained during the government seizure of the funds and moved the cryptocurrency from the DEA controlled wallet to a hosted wallet that she controlled. The investigation was conducted by the OIG’s Cyber Investigations Office.
