Non-DOJ Individual Sentenced for Selling Firearms Stolen from ATF Facility by a Contract Security Guard.

On February 3, 2021, a non-DOJ individual was sentenced to forty months of imprisonment and ordered to forfeit $41,961 and all weapons, weapon parts, and ammunition, for selling firearms stolen from an ATF facility by a contract security guard. According to the Indictment, from August 2016 through March 2019, the individual purchased stolen firearms, firearm components, and ammunition from a former DHS Federal Protective Service contract security guard assigned to the ATF facility, and then sold the firearms and components over the internet from his residence. The investigation was conducted by the OIG’s Washington Field Office, ATF, and DHS OIG.
