Former Employee of DOJ Grant Recipient Arrested and Charged with Felony Theft

On February 25, 2021, a former employee of the Never Again Foundation, a recipient of Department of Justice Victims of Crime Act funds, was arrested following a criminal Complaint charging her with one count of felony theft.  Christina Cook was charged in the Superior Court of the State of Arizona.  According to the Complaint, from on or about December 1, 2014, through on or about January 31, 2019, Cook, without lawful authority, knowingly controlled Never Again Foundation’s money, of a value of $100,000 or more, with the intent to deprive Never Again Foundation of such property. The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Tucson Area Office, FBI Phoenix Division, and Maricopa County District Attorney’s Office.
