On February 13, 2026, a former BOP Recreational Specialist previously assigned to the Federal Medical Center Lexington (FMC Lexington) in Kentucky was sentenced to 12 months of incarceration followed by 12 months of supervised release for abusive sexual contact and receipt of an illegal gratuity. Ariell Zulewski was sentenced in the Eastern District of Kentucky. According to the factual statement in support of the guilty plea, from in or about December 2023 through in or about February 2024, Zulewski knowingly engaged in sexual contact with an inmate and accepted money for an official act. The investigation was conducted by the OIG’s Lexington Locale; forensic assistance was provided by the OIG’s Cyber Investigations Office.
