Former BOP Paramedic Charged and Pleaded Guilty to Theft of Government Property

On June 16, 2026, former BOP Paramedic previously assigned to the Federal Correctional Institution Lewisburg (FCI Lewisburg), in Pennsylvania, was arrested and pleaded guilty following an Information charging him with one count of theft of government property. John Woodruff was charged in the Middle District of Pennsylvania. According to the Information, on or between January 1, 2021, and June 1, 2025, Woodruff stole controlled substances, including methadone hydrochloride, from FCI Lewisburg. The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Pennsylvania Locale.
