On March 20, 2026, a former BOP Correctional Officer previously assigned to the Federal Correctional Institution Pollock Medium (FCI Pollock) in Louisiana, was sentenced to 3 years’ probation and a $100 court assessment fee for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute controlled substances in a federal correctional complex. Charles Humphreys was sentenced in the Western District of Louisiana. According to the factual basis in support of the guilty plea, beginning in 2022, Humphreys conspired with inmates and others to smuggle cigarettes, K2, and paper laded with Naloxone and Buprenorphine into FCI Pollock. During a voluntary interview, Humphreys admitted having received approximately $4,000 per delivery for smuggling contraband for three inmates at FCI Pollock. The investigation was conducted by the OIG’s Houston Office.
