On January 28, 2026, a former BOP correctional officer pleaded guilty to twenty-four counts of bribery and sixteen counts of money laundering. Ashley Brown, who was previously assigned to the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) located in Jessup, Georgia, was indicted by a Federal Grand Jury in the Southern District of Georgia. According to the Indictment, from on or about May 21, 2022, through September 22, 2022, Brown accepted twenty-four bribes, via Cash App, totaling $29,000. Brown then transferred those payments between multiple Cash App accounts to conceal and disguise the nature, location, source, and ownership of the bribery payments.
