Former BOP Correctional Officer Indicted and Arrested for Theft of Government Property

On July 26, 2021, a former BOP Correctional Officer assigned to the Federal Prison Camp in Montgomery, Alabama, was arrested following an Indictment charging him with one count of theft of government property.  Christopher McWilliams was indicted in the Middle District of Alabama.  According to the Indictment, from on or about November 6, 2019, through on or about December 2, 2019, McWilliams did willfully and knowingly steal and purloin United States currency by obtaining cash advances with a government issued credit card, the property of the United States in excess of $1,000.   The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Atlanta Area Office.
