Former BOP Correctional Officer Arrested and Pleaded Guilty to Falsification of Records

On July 23, 2026, a former BOP Correctional Officer previously assigned to the Federal Medical Center Lexington (FMC Lexington), in Kentucky, was arrested and pleaded guilty following an information charging him with one count of falsification of records. Jonathan Vago pleaded guilty in the Eastern District of Kentucky. According to the factual basis in support of the guilty plea, on or about June 28, 2025, Vago falsified a report regarding a physical assault on an inmate by BOP staff. The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Lexington Locale and the FBI.
