Former BOP Correctional Officer Arrested and Pleaded Guilty to Bribery of a Public Official

On May 31, 2023, a former BOP Correctional Officer assigned to the Federal Correctional Institution Yazoo City in Mississippi was arrested and pleaded guilty to an Information charging him with bribery of a public official.  Brian Jenkins was charged in the Southern District of Mississippi.  According to the plea agreement, Jenkins pleaded guilty to a one-count Information, which stated that from on or about August 1, 2017, through on or about June 1, 2018, Jenkins accepted monetary bribes in exchange for providing prohibited objects to a federal inmate of a prison.  The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Jackson Mississippi Domicile Office.
