On October 22, 2025, Amanda Parrott, a former BOP Captain’s Secretary previously assigned to the Federal Correctional Complex Yazoo City in Mississippi, pleaded guilty in the Southern District of Mississippi to one count of bribery of a government official. According to the Indictment, beginning in or about August 2020 and continuing through in or about October 2020, Parrott did demand, seek, receive, accept, and agree to receive and accept something of value personally in return for being induced to an act and omit to do an act in violation of her official duty, that is, accepted money in exchange for smuggling contraband items, including narcotics, into a federal prison to provide to federal inmates. This investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Jackson Locale.
