On April 29, 2021, a former USMS Contract Correctional Officer previously assigned to the Northeast Ohio Correctional Center (NEOCC) in Youngstown, Ohio, was sentenced to 5 months of imprisonment and two years of supervised release, the conditions of which include 5 months of location monitoring during which the defendant must remain at her home with specified exceptions, for one count of sexual abuse of an inmate, one count of bribery, and two counts of providing contraband to an inmate. Barbara Davis pleaded guilty in the Northern District of Ohio. According to the factual statement in support of the guilty plea, from on or about November 13, 2017, through on or about November 7, 2018, Davis knowingly engaged in sexual acts with an inmate who was under her custodial, supervisory, and disciplinary authority and accepted monetary bribes in exchange for introducing cell phones and tobacco into the NEOCC for an inmate. The investigation is being conducted jointly by the OIG’s Chicago Field Office, the Cyber Investigations Office, and the FBI.
