On March 19, 2026, a former BOP Contract Residence Monitor previously assigned to the Atlanta Residential Reentry Center (RRC), was charged by information and pleaded guilty to one count of deprivation of rights under color of law and one count of making false statements to a federal agent. Tristan Cox was charged in the Northern District of Georgia. According to the information, on April 7, 2024, Cox intentionally engaged in a nonconsensual sexual act with a person who was in official detention and under Cox’s custodial authority. On November 13, 2024, Cox knowingly made false statements to the OIG when interviewed about the incident. The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Atlanta Office and the Fulton County Police Department with forensic assistance provided by the FBI Laboratory.
