Former BOP Correctional Officer Indicted for Bribery

On April 9, 2024, a former BOP Correctional Officer assigned to the Federal Correctional Institution in Edgefield, South Carolina, (FCI Edgefield) was indicted for one count of bribery.  James Lindley was indicted in the District of South Carolina. According to the Indictment, from in or about January 2023 through in or about November 2023, Lindley accepted bribery payments in exchange for smuggling contraband to inmates FCI Edgefield. The indictment includes a forfeiture order which would require Lindley to forfeit upon conviction $30,156, which is the total sum of bribery payments Lindley received. The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Charleston Locale.
